about the first class 2008-9:

Offered for the first time in 2008-9, this class examines, and gives students the opportunity to directly address, challenges in delivering healthcare in resource-constrained settings. Having prepared during the prior semester, 53 students spent 3+ weeks in January 2009 working in teams of four on site with hosts in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Sierra Leone and Malawi to design and help implement practical solutions to the “implementation gap”–the gap between what is known about treating key health problems and what is actually delivered to patients. We return to the classroom to reflect on the intensive field experience in February and March 2009.  Check out the class blog for updates, including posts by students, and read more about the class as we kicked off, and at our mid-point, or take a look at the student flyer which presents the class in a one-page format.

Materials for potential host organizations:

Global Health Delivery: Introducing the opportunity: a one-page introduction to the course.
Note to potential host organizations: a letter to applying host organizations that accompanies the questionnaire.
GLab Global Health Delivery Application: please fill out this application if you are interested in becoming a host organization for GLab GHD.
