about this site
Start here to learn about global health at MIT. As we build this site, you’ll be able to connect to and learn about varied ways in which MIT people are working on global health. The first parts of this site to be developed address global health delivery–an emerging field of study into how health care can reach all.
Why delivery? We think there’s a real need for addressing the gap between what science and medicine tell us can help more people live better lives and our collective ability to make sure that even basic health care gets to those who need it. In advanced economies and resource-constrained settings alike, the issues are many and complex, and vary by setting. But we think that MIT students, faculty, and staff can help address them. With an orientation in the practical, we’ve assembled some materials to help you get started in learning about the needs, challenges, and opportunities, as well as inspirations and examples to draw on.
About us. This site has been assembled by MIT Sloan School of Management Senior Lecturer Anjali Sastry, with plenty of help from web whiz Shiba Nemat-Nasser. Contact us. We’re looking to students, faculty, staff, and alumni to join the community, to help build the conversation on campus and to help everyone to learn about the opportunities to learn about, work on, or research into the issues.
